January Challenge: Beginning the New Year by Finishing Old Projects

finishing projects

I have a confession to make.  I am a great beginner and a terrible finisher.  If there is such a thing as Crafter's Attention Deficit Disorder (CADD?), I am the poster child. I get so excited about an new idea and am all over it in the beginning.  But then I usually run into a snag or delay, lose steam, and there it sits - for days, weeks, months, or (in the case of a certain curbside armoire) more than a year.

We are about to begin a new year; I want to begin it by finishing.  I want to finish all of those projects in my home (mostly in my basement) that have been hanging over me for the last year.  I have much furniture that needs repainting, other pieces that need rehabbing, a craft area that I want to organize, a slipcover to complete, a sofa to upholster, a bedroom to paint, curtains to sew, wedding gifts to make, and personalized signs to create. Sounds overwhelming, I know....boy, do I know!

Check back in with me over the next month and see how I am coming.  I promise to be honest with how far I am getting.  And I am going to start with the blessed armoire.

Scary, isn't it?

  1. Hi Patty! I found you on Blogtalk. Love your honesty about starting and not finishing projects... my hubby says the very same thing about me! I can't wait to see your (many) finished projects this year. - Holly
